It is so staggering I cannot articulate or express the terrifying shock regarding the crime committed against the Egyptian soldiers in Sinai on Sunday night when 17 soldiers lost their lives (and many more injured). Regardless of the outcome by the current investigation, this act of brutality was carried out by an enemy to Egyptians, Palestinians and the entire Muslim and Arab worlds.

Who is the identity that committed this terrorist attack ? Who is the sole party that benefits from this aggression in Sinai ?

Israel.

To a large extent, I agree with the scenario that Israel is the mastermind of the inhumane operation that has (once again) been blamed upon the Palestinians. To demonstrate the argument that Israel is most likely responsible for this attack it is necessary to look at the deterioration of Palestinian-Egyptian relations, which is what Israel wants. Divide and conquer.

By destabilizing the security system of Egypt and maintaining the status quo it will paralyze the proposed development projects led by the new President Morsi of Egypt (and more particularly in Sinai).

Israel has not been comfortable with the latest renewed relationship between the Hamas government in Gaza and new Egyptian government. Recently in a historical visit, President Morsi warmly received the Prime Minister of Gaza directly and Egypt declared that it will terminate the blockade of Gaza or at the very least, ease the restrictions.

Over the past six years, Israel has been diligently trying to encourage the deformed image about Gaza, depicting it as “radical Islamist Strip” (which is an obvious lie). Thus, Israel wants to justify its illegal blockade on the Gaza Strip by imposing more hardship upon the people who reside in Gaza.

The social protest movement in Israel is rapidly widening its demands of achieving “social justice” within Israeli society. Over the past few weeks, a number of Israeli citizens burned themselves (in protest) which constitutes a real threat to the right-wing government of Netanyahu. Through the emerging of security threat (Israeli manufacturing industry) at the Egyptian-Israeli borders, this popular movement will most likely be shut down, just like the Rafah border crossing.

Hypothetically, there is evidence of the perpetrator’s identity or who committed this crime. This evidence is that Israel is famous for committing such aggression, but consistently shifts responsibility onto another. Israel has alerted and asked its citizens to leave Sinai immediately and return to Israel. Palestinian resources reported that the staff of Kerem Shalom crossing point was asked to evacuate the crossing hours before the attack took place.

The 1.7 millions Palestinians living in Gaza have totally condemned the irresponsible and anti-Islamic aggression. The Gazan society as a whole expressed solidarity with Egyptian people for the loss of 17 of their sons. Gazans have been living under a drastic siege over the past six years which turns their lives into an impossibility, literally. They have zero benefit from such incident. Regardless of who Israel blames for being responsible for this aggression (whether they are Palestinians or Egyptians) there is a general consensus that this act was shamefully anti-Islamic, anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian. So continues the ongoing sacrifices in Palestine and Egypt by Israel.

We experience peace in this world by the sacrifices we make. The greater the sacrifice, the more intense the peace. It is time for peace in Palestine. It is time for peace in Egypt.
